Chrismas Lights 2009 Take Down (Update)

From: Lymington Community Christmas

Update 14th Jan: Lights Take Down Sunday 17th Jan Is Go

We have just checked the MET office forecast - Sunday 17th Jan looks spot on: dry, sunny, 10 degrees, West 5-7 mph. We have warming refreshment breaks arranged along the way and hope we can whiz through the packing up.
Yes to all those who asked, do bring anyone who can spare a little time to help - they can have bacon butties too! Even if you can only make a short time, all help is appreciated.

Update 9th Jan: Lights Take Down Sunday 10th Jan Postponed

Several of us have walked the High St and we feel that it is the wind chill that will be too much. After about 20 minutes it was uncomfortable. Also some of the fire crew are on support standby with possible poor weather coming again later Sunday, so this is to confirm WE ARE NOT MEETING THIS SUNDAY.
Will send out next option when we have clarity on weather next week.

LYMINGTON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS TAKE DOWN

Volunteers Needed 08:30 17/01/10 10/01/10 Gosport St

We are planning to take down Lymington's Christmas Lights at 08:30 on Sunday morning, January 17th 10th 2010. We will be starting at the bottom of the High Street i.e. Gosport Street, and working our way up to the top i.e. The Thomas Tripp.

How does the Foundation do it?

Last year with one ladder and our volunteer team, we managed to take down the whole of Lymington town's Christmas Lights in under three hours.

As we did when putting them up, we will have two teams working in parallel. We expect to reduce the total time taken by half this year and finish up at The Thomas Tripp before mid day.

What can you do to help?

We need your support to make it happen. If you are able to come along and bring a friend if possible, anytime between 08:30 and mid-day on Sunday 17th 10th, you can help make it quick and fun for the whole team. We have jobs for everyone, some hands on and others less so.

Add a comment here or contact us if you can help Lymington.

How can I help if I can't make it?

Most of our Volunteers have seen the comments about the Lymington Community Christmas on the 27th November 2009 and many kind letters from Lymington community, but, for those that may not have already, please do read how much appreciation for our collective efforts we have had this year here.

Wishing you all the very best for the New year.

Great we will both be there. Can help for about an hour but have to collect parents later. Well done it looked fantastic over Christmas and particularly in the snow last Tuesday. Thanks to everyone
