From: Lymington Community Christmas
I really love Christmas in Lymington. I was delighted
to take time out from my busy schedule to join the 3,500 people in
Lymington at the lights switch on and Christmas Street Party
in 2008. The whole town was so vibrant and full of life and excitement.
I can’t wait to join in the Lymington celebrations this Christmas on
Friday 27th November at 6 pm – I hear the lights will be more sparkling
and the party even more fun. I hope to land on the roof again and meet
all the children and young at heart.
The theme this year is “I am Lymington” with over 50 ‘Unsung Heroes’ from the local community together with Sports Groups parading along the High Street. The amazing World Record Breaking Steam Car and Team will be there with my steam powered sledge and the Vintage Beaulieu Bus. There’ll be a fantastic firework, laser and shooting flames display with live music and the grand countdown to switch on the town lights.
This brilliant evening of fun is helping Lymington Foundation bring together our whole community again - and you’re invited. The Christmas lights and celebrations are funded entirely by your sponsorship, personal gifts and over 450 hours of voluntary help. I’m writing to you to ask for your special help to ensure that we can all share the benefit and spirit of Christmas with those who live, work and visit here as well as the wider community. Like last year, we need to raise £21,230 for all the Christmas lights and community activities.
It will NOT happen without you. We have to raise it this month to make it all happen - please make a donation now of whatever you can to help our town at Christmas. You will then receive a:
- Beautiful, happy festive town and Christmas shopping experience for all the visitors.
- Wonderful High Street Parade, Christmas Party and Fireworks – the biggest event in Lymington.
- ‘Lymington Community Christmas 2009’ Window Badge to proudly display.
- Your name placed on the ‘Lymington Roll of Honour’.
- ‘Friends of Lymington Certificate’ showing your support for Lymington.
- A great big thank you from everyone and a happy, successful Christmas.
There is nowhere in the world quite like Lymington. Let’s get together to make it glitter throughout Christmas. Please join me in the High Street on Friday 27th November at 6 pm for another fabulous night to remember.
Father Christmas
